The Gay Life of a Country Boy

Thinking during Days

While sitting here watching Days of our Lives, it’s hard to think about the plots going on when there is so much to think about going on in our real lives. It’s an election year and those are always a pain in the ass. The commercials haven’t started up in mass yet, but it’s right around the corner. I also don’t watch much network television. With our Visio Smart TV, we have access to all the normal apps like Peacock, Paramount+, and Hulu. I don’t pay for Hulu, but I do the other two. Peacock is primarily so that I have access to DAYS when I can’t watch it every night. Sometimes, it’s better to hold off a day or two and watch a few episodes. Since paying the higher price, I don’t get the commercials. Thankfully!

Anyway, the past couple weeks have been a stir in our country. We thankfully survived four years of having one of the biggest dumbasses in creation as our president and now, even though he’s been out of the office for almost another four years, we can’t get him off the television or out of our ears. I subscribe to the MeidasTouch channel on YouTube and in the beginning, I thought I could keep up with some form of news. It has practically become the Drump life channel. Every day of the New York court case was covered. Every political rally is covered. Multiple X posts are covered. Good God, if you think about it, with as much as dumbass goes around and runs his mouth, they make multiple episodes a day. I’ll probably unsubscribe soon.

Not only has he been on trial (and thankfully found guilty by a jury of his peers), Hunter Biden was also on trial. I didn’t know much about his case. How could I? He hasn’t had any air time so that people could find out what it was. Hell, I didn’t even know he was a crack head until I heard about the case on the Start Here podcast. I’m not all up on my crack and guns legislation so I didn’t know that was a question on an application to own a firearm. I mean, they don’t ask you if you just beat your wife before getting to the gun shop or if you’ve stalked an ex. Those seem to be questions on the same level of concern as using drugs, if not more important.

I could talk about the whole mess in the Middle East, but I think that can stay hidden in the depths of my head. Period.

DAYS has ended for the evening and my brain is starting to trail off into the netherworld. I’ll use Friends to put me to sleep. Thanks syndication for playing a show I was happy to watch for ten years.
