The site owner, if I am not badly mistaken, lives in New York and loves underwear.  Not just briefs, but all underwear.  He posts a picture in his underwear very often.  To be honest, I ended up with one of those pairs about 2 years ago!  LMAO!  They feel great!  They are Underdaks.  You know, those underwear worn by hot Australian men in those very well thought out commercials.  My favorite one has a guy in the airport, trying to get past those bothersome TSA agents.  These two just happen to be horned up women and trying to get him naked.  He must be like me and Adam from Dubious Intent Plus podcast as we love to get naked.  It’s just in our jeans!  LOL!

I am hoping that there is another Show and Tell sometime soon.  He had about 10-15 people send in pictures along with a few words the guys had to say.  There were some really nice underwear shots.  Many of them can be found on Twitter.  If you find one underwear lover, the chances of you finding a hundred more through that person is very good.  If you have a Twitter account, you can follow both George and I.  Look at the top left corner of the website and there are links to take you to our streams.

Go have a look around Undies 101 and you’ll get to see many different kinds of underwear and you may even see some you would like to buy for yourself.  He’s really good about answering questions about underwear (we love talking about it) and he tells you the name of the briefs as he wears them so that his readers can easily find them.

This is one of my favorite pairs of underwear.  They are by N2N Bodywear.  When I wear these, it’s as if everything is right in the universe.  The feel is unbelievable against my skin…so you can imagine the look of calmness that overtakes my face when I slip them on.  To get that feeling, you will have to take me at my word and get a pair of them.  They are the Twilight Brief in the Twilight collection.

The reason for my sadness is not from the briefs themselves.  I would say that this pair ranks in the top five of all time favorites.  That is saying something.

The sadness comes from the stitching coming loose from the waistband.  I’ve owned them since the week of Christmas 2010.  That’s almost five months now.  I have underwear in my drawer I’ve owned since 2001.  The only hole in that pair was because I was wearing them while sitting on concrete beside a pool.  They snagged on something.

Anyway, back to the N2N briefs.  I slide the pair off and standing naked in the living room, I looked at the briefs.  I immediately saw light between the waistband and the red material.  “Damn it!” was the first thing from my mouth.  The second exclamation was, “Son of a bitch!”  And why the second profanity?

I looked at the back of the briefs and saw the hole shown to the left.  Two places in the briefs where it was coming loose from the waistband!  I was speechless.  I am not rough on my underwear.  Honestly, they are probably my possessions that I take the most care of.  If I had the time, I would hand-wash every pair.  But being realistic, that would never happen.  I own only two pairs, at the most, I have to wash by hand.  They are special!

Struck with this situation, I was left unsure as to what I needed to do next.  Just throw the pair away?  I couldn’t.  I loved them too much.

Stitch the holes and carry on like it never happened?  What would that get me but a few more weeks/months of enjoyment until the holes appeared somewhere else along the waistband?

I need something more than self-repair.  I need a replacement from the manufacturer.  I feel it is their responsibility to replace a flaw in production.  I am wondering how many pairs sold have done this exact same thing.  Since this occurrence, I have contacted a person who has direct contact with the company.  If this doesn’t get any response, I will try getting in touch with them myself.  No one should have to deal with poor quality from something they like so much.

They are in magazines and they are on billboards.  When you think about it, at one point in time, they were how we knew there were new brands or designs in the stores…at least for those that weren’t able to get to the store often. 

Being back in the woods, I depended on magazine ads for updates on my fetish/interest/motivation and for whatever other purpose it served.  The coolest thing wasn’t the brands being featured, but rather the new designs being created.  It was awesome to see all the color choices.

I used to sit at my grandmother’s house and look through all the magazines she had in the living room.  Most of them were the Ladies Home Journal.  To be a women’s publication, they had a good bit of men’s underwear advertisements.

Let’s look at that last statement.  Why would a company like Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, or Jockey advertise in a woman’s magazine?  That’s because for many husbands, their wives are the ones buying the underwear.  “Go to the store and pick me up a pack of underwear, will ya?”  I can hear it now.

There will always be the best ads that stick into your memories.  Jim Palmer has to be one of the best underwear models in my honest opinion.  I know, there have been many that some would say have been even better.  But, right now, I can’t find the one I really loved.  The guy was hairy and burly.  I dreamed that he would jump out the ad into my living room.

Either buff, hairy, skinny, or just altogether “godly”, we pay attention and we buy the product.  We are in a time now where there are professional athletes all over the place agreeing to take part in the underwear business.  Hey, there is great money in it.  I would love to get one paycheck written to David Beckham from Armani for sitting there in a pair of their briefs.  To be honest, I would love to be the pair of briefs on him, hugging him in all the right areas.

I would love to hear which underwear ads affected you the most.  Which ones got your motor running or convinced you to go purchase those briefs or boxers advertised.  The future of underwear advertising is not clear, but the stage has been set for greatness and more photographic innovation.

When I was a small child, I of course, wore the regular tighty-whitey briefs.  I distinctly remember the Fruit of the Loom boys briefs with the double blue lines on the waistband.  They were good until they tattered and then the fly never functioned correctly again and the legs became stretched out.  When you’re that young, they don’t have to be stretched out much to become uncomfortable.

After much begging and pleading, my mother bought me a pack of Underoos featuring Woodstock from Charlie Brown.  I wore those things out!  They were such a wonderful thing for my burgeoning tastes and interests.

After those faded out of existence, I was left with my plain old drawers.  Yay me!  So, as you can surmise, I went back to my begging and pleading that lasted years on end.

One day while helping with the laundry, some men’s briefs were found with my Dad’s clothes.  They were stacked neatly and hadn’t been touched in a very long time.  I was in the sixth grade and was rather chubby.  Short and chubby with a love of underwear.  I did get those briefs…all in color…and couldn’t have been a happier child.

Middle school ended with me owning a pair of black and blue leopard bikinis.  I loved those.  They fit perfectly and helped out some nights when the dreams started.  Oh what nights!

High school saw me coming of age and having the money to buy my own clothes.  A trip to Mobile gave me the chance to buy a great package of bikini briefs that once again, were worn to the point of threads.  We had harsh water and no dryer.  Line dried made them seem so much rougher when slid on.

For a few years, I wore boxers.  Thinking back, I really didn’t understand why I ever started wearing them.  I think it was because while on the bus, I could sit with a leg in the seat, giving room for things to sway back and forth inside my pants.  Anything for a rise when you’re a teenager with hormones.  The boxer phase only lasted shortly into my college years and I went back to briefs.  Everything felt right again.

What was it that made me interested in underwear?  Imagination.  Pure and simple imagination.  Raging hormone imagination.  What was inside those briefs?  What was Mr. Sears Catalog Model hiding from me that was so important?  Since becoming an adult, I have learned that one important part of many guys’ lives was the Sears catalog.  I would spend hours looking at the models, figuring out the mysteries in the briefs….and those mysteries inside my mind.  I would take pictures like this one in red Ristefsky Macheda briefs and study it, scanning for imprints in the fabric.  Stretching.  Creases.  Oh, and the body hair around the briefs.  That was important as well.  The hair meant manliness.

You can imagine what it is like now that I am a grown man.  I have the money to occasionally buy the underwear I couldn’t before.  The underwear market is much larger now than in the 1980s.  And taking a leap…fetishes aren’t as passé as they once were.  So I love seeing myself and other men in underwear.  Do you like seeing Nike or Kenneth Cole shoes?  It’s about the same.

In my opinion, there is nothing hotter than seeing a man slip-on a brand new pair of underwear and witnessing that look of pure satisfaction develop on his face as his equipment finds it’s perfect spot inside.  That, of course, is followed by the look of even greater satisfaction as you pull them back down.

Let me answer the second question first.  No, I do not wear feminine underwear.  Those are for women.  Not men.  I know, I know.  All you other guys that love underwear are blowing up your cheeks and shaking your head in disbelief.  Not all the new styles look feminine and not all the flashy styles do either.  When it gets to the lacy and satin creations I’ve seen, then yes.  A line has been crossed and a penis might as well not be placed inside them.  It boggles my mind that some would wear that and then disrobe in front of their wives, girlfriends, or partners.  I would literally laugh my ass off.  I would ask which pantie bin he picked them out of at the five and dime store.

The first question is simple, yet rather complicated as well.  Underwear has changed over the years.  Thanks to the creator of Jockey underwear, briefs were created after seeing a postcard sent from Europe.  He saw the suits worn by men at the beach and had a fantastic idea.  Why not create underwear like this for everyday wear.  The boxer was already in large supply and worn by many.  The first briefs covered lots more skin than many styles do today.  Remember the scene in The Rocky Horror Picture Show when Brad removed his clothes.  Those weren’t a joke.  It was the real thing.

These days, we have more of a choice when it comes to the brand, cut/style/design, and color.  We don’t have to settle with plain, boring white anymore.  As you can see in my picture, we can even have two colors on the same pair.  The materials have changed from cotton to an assortment of other choices, such as elastane, spandex, lycra, and even bamboo.  Geez, men in the 40′s and 50′s would have died to see so large of an assortment.  Maybe then, husbands and wives wouldn’t have slept in different beds!  No Pleasantville would have been complete.

I recently completed a college course called Integrated Management Accounting Systems.  Our assignment was to create a company from scratch, find a location, research the products and supplies needed, and then create a business plan and presentation for a bank to get a business loan.  Can you imagine what I chose?  That’s right!  I created a business where men could find the underwear they wanted, craved, and deserved.  I will not give away too much of the idea as I would love to be able to create the business in the future.  The thing that sticks in my mind is the reaction of my professor as I presented my knowledge of men’s underwear.  It was priceless.  I didn’t have to ask the big question…boxers or briefs.  He said, “I’m just a plain old guy that buys regular old boxers.”  He wasn’t aware of the 30+ brands of men’s underwear in creation today.  In this picture, there are eight different brands.  In many drawers in bedrooms around the world, there may be two to three brands at the most.  Of course, these aren’t the men who collect them for wear.  These are the men who buy them to wear.  There’s a difference.

Take Billy Joe back in the country.  He could be single or he could be married.  If he’s single, he may buy a pack of Fruit of the Loom briefs in January and then might get another pack for Christmas from his mother.  If he’s married, he probably got a pack when his wife went to the store in January and then get another one much later, seemingly when the crotch is so worn out and the legs are gaping open to the point that Little Billy Joe is sliding down his leg.  Hmm….hi Billy Joe!  How are ya?!

Today, men’s underwear is a multi-billion dollar market.  With companies like 2(x)ist, Calvin Klein, Unico, Tommy Hilfiger, Timoteo, Armani, Joe Snyder, and countless others, our choices of underwear will constantly grow and change.  As time goes by, I’ll take a look at different companies and designs.  If you follow the blog and you’re an underwear lover, you may disagree with some of my opinions.  That’s perfectly alright and expected.  If there weren’t differences in opinions, every man in the world would be walking around in tighty-whities.  I hope I can learn of other brands around the world I haven’t had the pleasure of trying.
