Today is Signing Day at Auburn University in Auburn, AL. If you haven’t figured it out by my previous posts, I am a lifelong fan of the Tigers. It was a heartbreaking year this past football season, but I am hoping that with the talent that is signing on this year, we can turn that around. Let’s not forget that Auburn has a new head football coach this year. I hope that Coach Gus Malzahn will lead our boys to a winning season and cause a revival in Tiger nation.
I have been watching today’s updates on the AU Signing Day page. Seeing the young men who are the future of our team has been exciting and watching videos from their high school careers has allowed the fans to see who we will be running down the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
One person I believe we can see great things from is Montravius Adams (Dooly County HS, Vienna, GA) . This guy is 6’3″ (1.9 meters) and 310 lbs. (140.61 Kg). From the looks of it, he was a one man powerhouse when it came to bringing quarterbacks to the ground. Watch the following YouTube video of him during high school and you can see exactly what I mean.
There are definitely others that I hope to see promising things from. Jason Smith (McGill-Toolen HS, Mobile, AL) is a quarterback and was named the Mobile Press-Register Offensive Player of the Year in his senior year. Jason has a mighty impressive record under his belt.
Johnathan Ford (New Hope HS, New Hope, AL) is a running back. He was Class 3A First Team All-State and had 27 touchdowns as a senior. If he can do that for Auburn, he will be a major contributor to the Tiger drive for success in 2013.
I hope that all the new recruits will form a Tiger powerhouse. Give me even more of a reason to stand outside and yell “WAR EAGLE!!”
